Welcome to Jessup Elementary, home of the Jaguars, nestled in the vibrant Western Hills neighborhood of Cheyenne, Wyoming. With a proud legacy spanning over 60 years, our school community provides a high-quality education, fostering a nurturing environment where students, staff, and parents collaborate towards school improvement goals, aligned to the district's strategic plan.

Jessup Elementary strives to offer our students a well-rounded education that goes beyond the district’s guaranteed and viable curriculum. Our diverse range of activities and programs, such as Archery, Robotics, First Lego League, Astronomy Club, Jaguar Time, Homework Club, extended day and extended year instruction, and elementary intermural sports provide additional academic enrichments and interventions tailored to individual student needs.

We take immense pride in our high achievement standards, even amidst greater state and national accountability measures. By setting high expectations for all and fostering a belief in shared responsibility for learning, we create an environment that maximizes learning opportunities for our students. All teachers, paraeducators, and ancillary staff are Apple Certified, ensuring the seamless integration of technology to equip our students with essential 21st-century skills.

Our team of educators is at the heart of our success. Our teachers bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the classroom. Two staff members hold Doctorate Degrees, many of our staff members have master's degrees, with others actively pursuing advanced degrees. We are committed to staying up-to-date with cutting-edge, evidence-based instructional practices to provide the best education possible for our students.

We foster a culture of lifelong learning at Jessup Elementary, where our staff actively seek opportunities for professional development to stay at the forefront of educational practices. Our educational approach extends beyond academics to encompass the holistic development of the whole child. We are dedicated to nurturing our students academically, physically, socially, emotionally, creatively, artistically, and civically. By setting high expectations, accepting no excuses, and providing safety nets, we are invested in the success of every student.

Student safety and engagement are paramount at Jessup Elementary. We employ evidence-based strategies such as Sources of Strength and Olweus lessons to reduce bullying and promote inclusion, while implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies and Kagan structures to enhance student engagement. We ensure consistent student behavior expectations across common areas through schoolwide behavior guidelines and common lesson plans.
